Catalogue audit

What a catalogue isn't collecting.

Send the statements and registrations. Owed cross-checks every recording against what each society paid, country by country, and against 12 societies' public lists, then ranks every gap by money with what to do about it.

Who it's for

Selling a catalogue

Find and fix what isn't collected before the sale. In a sale, every euro a year it isn't collecting counts many times over in the price.

Buying or lending

See what the statements don't show before you price it: songs never registered, countries that pay nothing, money waiting on societies' lists.

Publishers and administrators

Check your own catalogue against what was actually streamed, society by society, and know what to claim before the deadlines.

Valuers and advisers

A standard, repeatable read of a catalogue's collection gaps, from the files already in the data room.

What the report finds

1
Songs no society pays

Recordings that stream at the distributor but never appear on a society statement: undeclared, or declared and never matched.

2
Countries that pay nothing

Markets with real streams and no line on any statement, with the society to ask in each.

3
Registration errors

Duplicate works, misspelt titles, missing performance or mechanical shares, ISRCs not linked to their work.

4
Money on public lists

Matches on 12 societies' official lists of unidentified works and unreachable rights holders.

5
What it's worth

Each gap priced at the society's own paid rates, ranked by money, with what to do, and its value at sale multiples.

In our sample, an independent artist's 30 songs: 10 songs on no society statement, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th biggest countries paying nothing, one song registered twice and one misspelt. Read the sample report ↗

What a gap is worth in a sale

A small yearly gap is a large number in a price. Type the yearly amount the audit finds.

Catalogue age
Worth in a sale€27,830 – €33,580

€2,300 a year at 12.1–14.6× trailing net revenue, the 2026 published range for catalogues older than 10 years (Billboard × Duetti Music Finance Index). Catalogues 2–10 years old have no published range: they sit between the two.

How it works

1

Send the files. Distributor or label statements (CSV), Society statements, Works list or CWR, Catalogue list (ISRCs, titles, writers). Data-room access works. Nothing is shared or resold.

2

We cross-check. Every recording against each society's lines, country, service and quarter, and against the public lists and registers.

3

You get the report. Gaps ranked by money, the society to ask in each country, and the fixes, ready to hand to your administrator.

Request an audit

The first audits run as pilots: priced per catalogue and quoted once we've seen the files. We reply within two working days.
